Based on Stefan Zweig’s novella, THE POST OFFICE GIRL tells the story of the life of a young woman from poor circumstances in the year 1926. After a brief glimpse into the noble and wealthy existence of her rich relatives, she is thrown back into her old life in the village through no fault of her own. In Vienna she meets a man. Both realize that their fate is directly linked to their social and financial background and that there seems to be no way out.
