Paying tribute to the art of famed Austrian poet Ernst Jandl, who died in 2000, nebel creates a visual equivalent to Jandl’s poems to childhood. This cycle of poems is written in a language used by children, including nursery rhymes and children’s prayers. Embracing both original and found footage (partly from the filmmaker’s childhood) nebel conjures up almost faded memories of childhood from the position of a mature adult.
