a film by Margarethe von Trotta
Switzerland/Luxembourg/Austria/Germany
At the centre of the film is Ingeborg Bachmann, the radical writer and uncompromising woman. The film tells the story of the author's life in Berlin, Zurich and Rome, her relationship with Max Frisch, her trip to Egypt and her radical texts and readings, which paraphrase the style of her literature and life: "Truth is reasonable for man".
